Cyrus configuration for Windows Mail
For “Email address” insert you primary email address at OvGU. “User name” and “Password” are the credentials of your OvGU account.
The field “Account name” determines the header which will be used by Windows Mail to present you the postbox. You can choose the string yourself. We recommend “OvGU”.
The field “Send your messages using this name” determines, which display name will be added to you mails. We recommend you to insert your real name here.
The incoming email server is “cyrus.ovgu.de”. The account type is IMAP4. The outgoing email server is “mail.ovgu.de”.
Ensure that the options “Outgoing server requires authentication”, “Use the same user name and password for sending email”, “Require SSL for incoming email” and “Require SSL for outgoing email” are selected.
Click “Sign in” finally.
